Our Story

Rooted in the land,
committed to growth

Hanson Seed has been a cornerstone of Vinton's agricultural community for generations. We understand that the seed you choose is the foundation of everything that follows — from the first green shoot in spring to the harvest that sustains a family or a farm.

Our doors open to everyone: the commercial farmer planning the next planting season, the homeowner tending a backyard garden, and the hobbyist discovering the joy of growing for the first time. Every customer walks in as a neighbor and leaves with the right supplies and the confidence to make it grow.

Why Hanson Seed

More than a seed
store — your growing partner

Proven Seed Quality

Every variety we carry is tested for germination and vigor. We don't stock what we wouldn't plant ourselves.

Knowledgeable Staff

Our team has hands-on experience with Iowa's climate, soil types, and growing challenges. Ask us anything — we love a good growing conversation.

Seasonal Timing

We stock what you need when you need it — spring planting supplies ready early, fall cleanup items when the leaves turn, and everything in between.

Community First

We're your neighbors in Vinton. Your success in the garden and on the farm matters to us — that's not a slogan, it's just how we operate.
